Samyuktha and Darshan married on the coast at UVA Meridian Bay Resort & Spa in Kundapura — thirty acres of garden and water in the Udupi district, and one of the few venues on this stretch built for a destination wedding at full scale. We travelled down from Bangalore two days early, the way we always do, to learn the light before the day arrived.
What the venue gives a photographer
UVA Meridian is generous with space, and space is what lets a wedding breathe in a frame. The garden walks hold a couple small against tall trees; the banquet halls take colour and jasmine beautifully. We mapped the morning sun across the lawns so that by the time the rituals began, we already knew which path would carry the gold of Samyuktha’s silk.
The day
A coastal Karnataka wedding keeps its old rhythms — brass, jasmine, the women of the family gathered close around the couple. We stayed quiet inside it and let the colour do the talking.
