Tanvi grew up an hour from this shore; Yannic flew half the world to reach it. They married at Manthan Beach Resort in Kaup, Udupi — a beachfront property on Kapu Beach where the lawn runs straight to the sand. For a wedding that joined two cultures, the open sea made the most honest backdrop we could have asked for.
Photographing a beachfront venue
The coast rewards timing over everything. We worked the couple portraits around the light off the water — Tanvi’s red Kanjeevaram against the pale Arabian Sea is a frame that needs no decoration. Inside, the resort’s carved detail and tiled floors gave us quieter, editorial moments between the ceremonies.
A wedding of two worlds
The day moved between a South Indian ceremony and the easy joy of two families meeting for the first time. Our favourite frame is the one nobody posed for — the leg in the air, the laugh, the sea behind.
