What wedding photography costs in Udupi and Mangalore

Wedding photography coverage at a coastal Karnataka resort

We’ve written a broader guide to wedding photography pricing in India, covering what moves a quote up or down anywhere in the country. Couples planning a coastal Karnataka wedding usually want the local version of that question: what specifically makes an Udupi or Mangalore quote look the way it does, and how that compares to a wedding a few hours inland in Bangalore.

The same drivers, applied to this coast

Our pricing guide sets out three things that build a quote everywhere: days of coverage, team size, and whether you’re booking photography, film, or both. None of that changes on the coast. What changes is how those three drivers show up in an Udupi or Mangalore context specifically.

Travel is a real line item here

We’re based in this region, which removes one variable other studios carry — a Bangalore-based team flying or driving in adds travel and stay costs that a locally based studio doesn’t. That said, a coastal wedding still asks more of logistics than a city one: venues along the Kaup or Kundapura stretch, or a garden estate outside Mangalore, are often further from a team’s base than a city-centre hotel, and a multi-day booking means accommodation for the crew across the full event, not just the wedding day. Our pricing guide covers how travel and destination weddings factor into a quote more generally; on this coast, the effect is smaller for a local studio and larger for one flying in.

Multi-day rituals push team size and days up

Coastal Karnataka weddings, particularly Tulu, Bunt, and GSB Konkani ceremonies, often run a fuller sequence than a single-day city wedding — pre-wedding functions, a longer main ceremony, and rituals that don’t move to accommodate a schedule. We’ve covered this ritual density in our guides to Tulu and Bunt weddings and Konkani and GSB traditions. Each additional function is its own planning and editing job, which is exactly the “days of coverage” driver from our pricing guide, just applied to this coast’s specific ritual calendar rather than a generic haldi-mehndi-wedding template.

Team size, for candid coverage of both sides

A coastal wedding with simultaneous rituals on the bride’s and groom’s sides, or a large family gathering that needs covering from more than one angle, needs more than a solo shooter to do it justice. This is the same team-size driver our pricing guide describes, and it applies whether the wedding is in Udupi, Mangalore, or Bangalore — the difference is that coastal weddings, with their fuller ritual sequences, tend to need that second angle more often than a single-day city ceremony does.

How coastal pricing compares to a Bangalore wedding

The honest answer, consistent with our broader pricing guide, is that the gap between an Udupi wedding and a Bangalore one is almost entirely about scale, not geography. An intimate coastal ceremony and a large Bangalore reception sit at very different points on a quote not because one city costs more than the other, but because guest count, number of functions, and team size differ between them. A small, single-day coastal wedding can cost less than a large multi-day Bangalore one, and a large multi-day coastal wedding — of the kind common among Tulu and GSB families on this coast — can cost more than a modest city reception. Location alone isn’t the variable to anchor your expectations on.

Why we still don’t quote off a rate card

As with our broader pricing guide, we’d rather understand your specific day before naming a number — guest count, how many functions across how many days, whether you want film alongside photographs, and where the venue sits relative to our base. A fixed package for “Udupi weddings” or “Mangalore weddings” would ignore exactly the variables that actually move the price, whether the venue is a resort along the Udupi coast or a garden estate in Mangalore.

Getting a quote for your coastal wedding

If you’re planning a wedding anywhere between Kundapura and Mangalore, tell us your date, venue, guest count, and function list, and we’ll build a quote around your actual day rather than a generic coastal rate. Check your date to start that conversation, or read our fuller pricing guide first if you want the full picture before you talk numbers with anyone.
