Kaup and Yermal: wedding venues on an emerging coastal stretch

Kaup, just south of Udupi town, has a working lighthouse and a beach that still feels a little undiscovered compared to the bigger coastal towns. Manthan Beach Resort sits directly on Kapu Beach, and it’s where Tanvi and Yannic held their intercultural wedding — the lawn opens straight onto sand, so the sea genuinely sets the day’s schedule rather than sitting in the background.

Just along the same coastline, the Kaup-Yermal stretch has been adding premium venue options in recent years, among them Peninsula Del Mar — a newer property on this coast worth a look if you want the Kaup light with a more contemporary setting.

Maravanthe: where the sea meets a river

Maravanthe is the most dramatic of the three — a narrow stretch of highway with the Arabian Sea on one side and the Souparnika river on the other.
